9/23/2021 PVSD BOARD VACANCY

Link to Board Vacancy Information

During the September 23, 2021, PVSD Board of Trustees meeting, Board President Brooke Day and Trustee Jeff Klugman submitted their resignations. After four years of service, Trustees Day and Klugman are each resigning for personal reasons. The district thanks both Trustees for their service to the district. Their work has been student-centered and, in recent years, focused on providing a safe and robust learning experience during the pandemic.

The Board of Trustees took action on September 23rd and will undertake a process to fill the vacancies in the next several weeks with provisional appointments. The Board chose the provisional appointment process as opposed to calling a special election because this approach is significantly less costly and the appointment process fills the vacancies in a more timely manner (a special election could not occur before April 2022).

District residents who are 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the school district, and a registered voter are eligible to present themselves as candidates for a provisional appointment. The District welcomes all eligible applicants who are interested in an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our district.

The term of the two provisional appointments will be approximately one year, ending with the November 2022 election.

The following dates are important for those interested in becoming a candidate:

  1. The Board of Trustees is hosting three virtual Informational sessions:

    • Wed October 6 at 7:00 p.m.

    • Fri October 15 at 9:00 am
