In school communities, evidence of collaboration would include:
  • developing clear goals, specific responsibilities, and processes for communication and decision-making
  • dedicating time and opportunity for collaborative activities, skill development, and ongoing modeling
  • actively encouraging and considering differing ideas and perspectives fostering and encouraging the engagement of all stakeholders
In classrooms, evidence of collaboration would include:

  • actively encouraging and considering differing ideas and perspectives in a safe, judgment-free environment
  • fostering and encouraging the engagement of all students in a variety of roles, including leadership
INTEGRITY: Being consistently honest and trustworthy.

In school communities, evidence of integrity would include:
  • proactive, transparent communication
  • informed and transparent decision-making
  • consistent district policies and actions
  • doing what we say we will do
In classrooms, evidence of integrity would include:
  • treating students/each other/others honestly and fairly
  • taking responsibility for doing one’s own work with one’s best effort
  • scoring student work fairly
  • acknowledging and learning from our mistakes
  • doing what we say we will do
RESPECT: Having regard and concern for yourself and others while accepting individual differences and the right of others to hold divergent views.

In school communities, evidence of respect would include:
  • creating a safe, open, welcoming school environment
  • regarding as important the opinions and perspectives of parents, teachers, staff, and students
  • handling conflict and diversity of opinion with civility and teamwork while assuming positive intent
  • maintaining respect for decisions once made and communicated
  • modeling and reinforcing respect at home and in the community
In classrooms, evidence of respect would include:
  • acknowledging the strengths and abilities of all students
  • treating every person with respect, kindness and care, and expecting the same from others
  • listening to others without interrupting and offering constructive feedback and encouragement
  • following and modeling established classroom and school rules
