Meet our PVSD Leadership Team
Meet Roberta Zarea, Superintendent

Before joining the PVSD family in 2019, Roberta Zarea served as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and principal at Union School District in San Jose. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services in the Saratoga Elementary School District. Roberta was named the Association of California School Administrators Superintendent of the Year in the 2021-2022 school year.
Ms. Zarea is passionate about public education and finds joy in seeing students grow and develop into confident, self-sufficient learners who contribute to improving the world. She values partnerships with families and collaboration with teachers and staff.
What she finds particularly special about PVSD is the community of good-hearted adults who genuinely care about children and generously support students with their time and resources. “It takes a Valley.”
Ms. Zarea is an active supporter of Best Buddies International, a non-profit organization comprised of “volunteers that create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).” She was recently named a Best Buddies “Champion of the Year” for two years in a row for her efforts to support people with IDD.
When she’s not working, she likes to spend time with her family hiking and backpacking and taking walks with her two dogs. She also loves to read and travel.
Meet Connie Ngo, Chief Business Official
Ms. Connie Ngo joined the PVSD leadership team as Chief Business Official in 2018. Connie has worked in public school finance in the Bay Area since 2002. Before this, as a certified public accountant, she audited financial statements and internal controls for organizations.
Connie enjoys her role in PVSD because it allows her to be hands-on and directly involved in many different aspects of school operations.
When she is not working, Connie enjoys cooking new recipes for her family – and is always gratified when her family enjoys the meals she makes for them! She also loves outdoor camping trips and hiking the local trails.

Minoo finds working with students incredibly uplifting and gratifying. She loves putting a smile on a student’s face when interacting directly with them and that nothing compares to a kid’s candid humor.
When she’s not working, Minoo likes spending time with family and friends, cooking, eating, and enjoying a movie together. She also loves to read fiction!
Meet Adam Lint, Director of Facilities & Bond

Mr. Lint joined PVSD during the 2019-2020 school year and has nine years of public school construction experience. Before he joined the PVSD family, he served as a Planning Specialist and managed individual projects ranging from small contracts to multi-million dollar projects. Less than two years later, he became the supervisor of the planning department and managed their bond.
What he finds rewarding about his role is being able to support the students by providing facilities that meet their needs so they can thrive when at school.
When he’s not working, Mr. Lint enjoys spending time with his three kids and doing projects around the house.
Meet Kristen Shima, Principal, Corte Madera School

Ms. Kristen Shima has been part of the PVSD family for the last 17 years and loves working directly with students. She is a hands-on principal who likes being involved in what students are learning, their school activities, and their student-led activities with the Leadership class. Kids make her happy and keep her young!
When she’s not working, she is busy raising two teenagers, going to their sporting events, and volunteering in the community. She also enjoys traveling with family and friends.
Meet Lynette Hovland, Principal of Ormondale School

Ms. Hovland has been in education in San Mateo County for 36 years and for the past six years with PVSD. Her extensive experience includes teaching for seven years at both the elementary and middle school levels and 29 years as an administrator. Ms. Hovland has served as an elementary and middle school principal, a Special Education Director at a Charter School, and at the district level in curriculum and accountability. Of her administrative experience, being an elementary school principal is her favorite!
Ms. Hovland loves working with students and enjoys their enthusiasm for learning and their sense of wonder and fun.
When she's not working, Ms. Hovland enjoys spending time with her family. She also loves to go antiquing and refinish and refurbish old furniture. A fun fact about her: If she weren't a principal, she would own a tea/antique shop.
