Note: Some of the information below is from the California School Boards Association (CSBA)
Portola Valley School District (PVSD) Governing Board members are elected public officials who are entrusted with governing the school district. The role of the school board is to ensure that PVSD is responsive to the values, beliefs and priorities of our community. The Board fulfills this role by performing five major responsibilities:
-
Setting direction
-
Establishing an effective and efficient structure
-
Providing support
-
Ensuring accountability
-
Providing community leadership as advocates for children, our school district, and public schools.
Board members fulfill these responsibilities by working together as a governance team with the superintendent to make decisions that will best serve all the students in the community.
The PVSD Governing Board meets every 3 to 4 weeks at 5:00 p.m. The full schedule of the 2022-2023 board meetings can be found here.
